Innovative Scholars ELA/Math Title I Intervention Specialist Innovative Scholars creates more equitable learning opportunities for students by empowering educators and helping students reach their maximum potential socially, emotionally and academically. We are currently hiring qualified teachers to provide direct, small group instruction and facilitate our online instruction curriculum in reading and math to selected Title I students at our partner schools. Applicants will be dedicated to raising academic achievement, committed to providing individualized learning to students with a wide range of academic needs, and experienced teaching in a blended learning environment. Innovative Scholars Title I Intervention Specialist providing experiences that support and motivate students to be successful while engaging them in innovative but rigorous educational activities. We seek to add additional Title I Intervention Specialists who believe in this vision to our team of highly trained and experience educators. Job Responsibilities: Title I Intervention Specialists Provide reading and/or math instruction in small groups sessions for at-risk students (average of 6-8 students). Use a “blended learning” model that combines small group instruction and online learning. Facilitate and monitor our online curriculum. Analyze data reporting progress and challenges to your supervisor. Provide individualized instruction based on identified academic weaknesses. Communicate monthly with classroom teachers at school. Be responsive to the needs of school administrators and teachers. Participate in monthly compliance audits. Complete administrative responsibilities throughout the program (i.e. lesson plans, quarterly progress reports etc.). Attend monthly professional development sessions. Terms of Employment 5 - 20 hours a week depending on program schedule. Paid holidays and professional development Intervention Specialists received paid prep and administration hours based on total weekly instruction sessions. Hiring for Summer programs AND School Year ’18-’19. Monthly professional development is provided on a wide range of pedagogical, classroom management, social-emotional learning, and other education related topics. Requirements Teacher currently not working in classroom setting. Unassigned, substitute, or retired teachers encouraged. Teaching and/or tutoring experience is required. Bachelor’s degree or endorsement in Education. Familiarity with best intervention strategies in math and reading. Previous experience working with an intervention program (preferred) Experience working with technology-based educational programs and familiarity with Google Chrome (preferred). Must be able to type and upload lesson plans, complete online templates and reports on Google Drive, send and open emails, attach and/or review emailed documents, and log in and maneuver through online curriculum programs. Experience working with English Language Learners and/or Special Education students. (preferred) Spoken and written Spanish (preferred). Strong classroom management skills. Training in Social Emotional Learning (preferred) Must pass the district-required background check.
